Carmen Lopátegui. Barcelona, 1955

Education in art and interior design

Born during the exuberance of spring and under the influence of the long Mediterranean summers of her childhood, C. Lopátegui has kept within herself, the light and harmony of nature, with a burning desire to express it through her painting. This can be divided into two well differentiated periods according to the evolution and the expression of the artist. The first, until 1999 and the second from 2000 to today.

Her work speaks of emotions, of moments as a repercussion, the expression of feelings through the generosity and the strength of color. One can feel by intuition the wish to express and communicate happiness, a new vision, liberating and renewed, of daily life.

LAST EXHIBITIONS CRITICS

"At first glance her works look like, we can say, the artistic expression of creativity. The sizes, straight lines, curves and colors, the fact of using a square format, fully contrary with the standards, strengthens its modern and creative vision. It reminds us that all the new trends are the result of breaking the mold, advance of another new way of making and seeing art"

Selection of Works from the first period, with the majority of the oils bursting with color, with predominance of blue tones in a variety of hues, from lilac to violet going through the range of turquoise to the deepest tonalities without being dark, and red, always present in her work, up to the present. The intensity of these colors provides strength of expression. Likewise, the ensemble acquires an imaginative, personal style.
